Boulenger’s Asian tree toad Rentapia hosii (Boulenger, 1892) of central Sarawak / Borneo
Rentapia hosii are nocturnal and feed on insects, especially ants. They live on land outside the breeding season, usually on trees deep in the rainforest, along small fast flowing rivers. The young initially stay on the ground and gradually progress to climbing. Rentapia hosii species is not able to adapt to highly changing habitat conditions as they occur due to anthropogenic environmental changes (land use, water pollution, forest destruction, etc.).
